As a requirement of the training and technical assitance contract, NACDD/ITACC shall provide all training and technical assistance in a culturally competent manner approved by the Administration on Developmental Disabilities. To accomplish this, NACDD/ITACC developed a cultural competence plan. The training and technical assistance contract requires an Annual Assessment of Council needs be conducted for the purpose of capturing emerging needs related to the implementation of the Council program requirements as stated in the DD Act. The goal of the plan is:
To perform all activities and duties of the technical assistance contract to Councils in a manner that has the greatest likelihood of ensuring maximum participation by individuals with developmental disabilities and their family members, while respecting and valuing culture.
